Fishing in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor might not be the first thing that comes to mind in a galaxy full of lightsabers and Force powers, but it plays a surprisingly enjoyable role in your adventure. While exploring the lush and diverse landscapes of the game, players have the opportunity to find unique fish scattered across various planets. These collectible fish can be brought back to the aquarium in Pyloon’s Saloon on Koboh, where they serve as part of a fun and relaxing side activity. For completionists and explorers alike, discovering all the fish locations is a rewarding task that adds charm and life to Cal Kestis’ journey.
Understanding the Fishing Mechanic
The Role of Skoova
You won’t be catching fish directly. Instead, fishing is facilitated by a friendly and eccentric NPC named Skoova, a small alien who pilots a miniature watercraft. Skoova appears at certain bodies of water throughout the game. When you find him, speak to him and he will catch a unique fish for your aquarium back in Pyloon’s Saloon.
Why Collect All the Fish?
There are ten fish to collect in Jedi: Survivor. Once you’ve collected them all and placed them in the aquarium, you’ll unlock one of the game’s side achievements and can enjoy watching the fully stocked aquarium come to life. It’s a satisfying collectible mission that adds flavor to the game world and encourages exploration.
All Fish Locations in Jedi Survivor
1. See Fish – Rambler’s Reach, Koboh
This is likely the first fish you’ll encounter. After progressing the main story far enough to access Pyloon’s Saloon, look for a pond near the main building where you’ll meet Skoova. Talk to him and he will add the See Fish to your aquarium. This also begins your fish collection quest.
2. Frilled Newt – Dredger Gorge, Koboh
Head to the Dredger Gorge meditation point and travel northeast toward a small canyon filled with lush plant life. Look for a pool of water where Skoova is floating. Interact with him to catch the Frilled Newt. Keep an eye out for aggressive wildlife in the area.
3. Glottsamcrab – Foothill Falls, Koboh
Accessible after you unlock the ability to ride mounts, Foothill Falls contains several side objectives. You’ll find Skoova near a small waterfall and pond. Talk to him and he’ll reel in the Glottsamcrab, which has a tough outer shell and a fun backstory shared by Skoova himself.
4. Mee Fish – Harvest Ridge, Koboh
Travel to the upper regions of Harvest Ridge, an area known for its rolling hills and open pastures. There is a quiet pond where Skoova can be found calmly floating. Once again, speak with him and you’ll add the Mee Fish to your growing aquarium collection.
5. Fingerlip Garpon – Mountain Ascent, Koboh
This mountainous location can be reached after progressing further into the main story. Look for Skoova near a cliffside lake area. He’ll offer to catch the Fingerlip Garpon, a peculiar fish with a rather humorous name and unique appearance.
6. Big Mouth Faa – Viscid Bog, Koboh
Viscid Bog is a more dangerous area filled with tough enemies and environmental hazards. Navigate carefully until you reach a swampy pond in the middle of the zone. Skoova is waiting on his boat and will add the Big Mouth Faa to your collection once you speak with him.
7. Barbed Hookfish – Observatory Understructure, Shattered Moon
This fish is found outside of Koboh, on the Shattered Moon. From the Observatory Understructure meditation point, head toward the outdoor platform areas. Look for a small water basin where Skoova has surprisingly made his way. Chat with him and receive the Barbed Hookfish.
8. Snakefish – Devastated Settlement, Koboh
This zone becomes accessible later in the game. Navigate through the settlement ruins until you find a secluded water area. Skoova will be nearby, prepared to catch the Snakefish, a long and thin creature that adds exotic flavor to your aquarium’s collection.
9. Blinding Rayfish – Crypt of Uhrma, Jedha
On the desert planet of Jedha, explore the Crypt of Uhrma. Outside the crypt, near a serene pond, Skoova can once again be found. Speak to him to acquire the Blinding Rayfish, known for its shimmering body and unusual swimming style. This is one of the few non-Koboh fish in the game.
10. Fantailed Laa – Sanctuary Temple, Jedha
The final fish can be found near the Sanctuary Temple on Jedha. As with others, locate the water pool and Skoova. This time, he’ll help you catch the Fantailed Laa, completing your fish collection and bringing your aquarium to full capacity.
Tips for Finding All Fish Locations
Progress the Story First
Many fish locations are locked behind certain story beats or movement abilities. It’s best to wait until you’ve gained access to mounts, grappling abilities, and can traverse both Koboh and Jedha fully. Rushing the fish quest early may lead to frustration or blocked paths.
Use Skoova’s Boat as a Visual Cue
When exploring an area, keep an eye out for Skoova’s bright yellow boat. It’s usually a clear indication that a fish can be caught in the vicinity. His small size makes him easy to miss, so always scan water areas thoroughly.
Return to Pyloon’s Saloon Regularly
After each fish you collect, check back at Pyloon’s Saloon to see your aquarium evolve. Watching the fish swim in the tank adds a tangible reward to your efforts, and Skoova will occasionally share more stories or dialogue once new species are added.
Unlocking the Aquarium Achievement
What You Need to Complete
To fully complete the aquarium collection side quest, you must:
- Speak to Skoova in all ten fish locations
- Listen to his dialogue each time
- Visit Pyloon’s Saloon to see the fish appear
Once the final fish is caught and placed in the aquarium, you’ll receive an in-game acknowledgment and complete this collectible milestone. It also brings Skoova’s humorous mini-storyline to a satisfying conclusion.
Fish locations in Jedi: Survivor offer more than just collectibles; they introduce players to unique locations, charming character interactions, and an ongoing sense of discovery. Whether you’re a completionist aiming for every achievement or simply enjoy uncovering the secrets hidden within the world of Koboh and beyond, the fish collection is a fun and rewarding side journey. With patience, exploration, and a keen eye for ponds and rivers, you’ll soon find every fish and breathe new life into your aquarium back at the saloon.
